About the Project
Situated on c. 98 hectares, across 8 nearby sites, BNRG Carrowroe has been carefully selected for its low-lying land suitable for high solar gains.
Enhanced screening
Sheltered by enhanced hedgerows and buffers, the site is strategically located near the national grid. Setback, buffer zones, new planting and fencing will help screen the low-lying solar array panels.
Working with the community
We are committed to working closely with the local community at all stages of the project.
Community benefit fund
A community benefit fund will be established, likely contributing €3.2 million over 16.5 years.
Protecting the landscape and environment
Environmental, landscape and heritage conservation is at the core of our solar development.
Best-in-class expertise
By bringing together best-in-class experts, we can ensure BNRG Carrowroe meets the highest standards in preserving local ecology, biodiversity, wildlife and heritage.

Working with the community
We are committed to working closely with the local community at all stages of the project. Prior to submitting a planning application, a public consultation clinic was held at St. Mary’s Town Hall in Lanesborough. Co Longford on the 22nd of July from 3:30 - 6:30pm.
Community Benefit Fund
A Community Benefit Fund will be established, likely contributing €2.45 million to the locality over 15 years.
